What do you think about the impact of consciousness and thought to physical reality? Tale, fantasy or a real phenomenon? If you think this is nonsense, then you got here by mistake, and there is no reason to read more. This article was not created in order to prove something, but in order to tell you about the interesting phenomenon, which can explode your most cherished notions about reality.
If you are interested in quantum physics and its phenomena and capable to take in yet unexplainable phenomena, then you have arrived in a right place.
Random events
Have you ever heard of Random Event Generators (REGs)? Such generators are used to generate real random events. The "real" random event should be understood as event which is impossible to predict, even in theory. To create this random event generator it is necessary to use processes, the outcome of which is unpredictable by their nature. And such things, strangely enough, exist.
In the quantum world, scientists can observe the events that have no reason. They simply happen or don't, while keeping a clear probability of occurrence. There is no way to predict whether or not such an event occurs, and not simply because of lack of any data source, or they are very difficult to obtain or measure, but because of nature of the quantum world (for more details of phenomena that quantum physics study you can learn by reading the article Quantum Miracles).
One of these phenomena - electron tunneling, or, in other words, tunnel effect - is encountering a potential energy barrier by an electron. Depending on its wave function the electron has the exact probability of staying on one side of the barrier, or suddenly appearing on the other.
Surprising results of simple experiments
Unexpectedly, and contrary to traditional scientific theories, scientists of Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research Laboratory (PEAR Lab) found that conscious intention can affect on the statistical characteristics of a random event generator (REG).
If you flip a coin 200 times, you expect that approximately 100 times you will get "heads" and the other 100 times you will get "tails". Now imagine that you conduct an experiment of filpping a coin with the intention to have more "tails" than "heads". Suddenly, you find that the tails actually fell more. You conduct hundreds of such experiments and discover the correlations between your intention and the results of the experiments. You see that the intention is not always cause a shift in the statistical characteristics of the experiments. However, having a large sample of experiments, you discover a clear significant dependence, which goes far more beyond random coincidence.
Just this phenomenon discovered and studied by the PEAR Lab since 1979. In 2005, PEAR researchers established Psyleron, business research organization, in order to make the study of human consciousness more accessible to the public.
Mind Lamp
One of the Psyleron's products is Mind Lamp, a LED device, based on studies of mind-matter interaction. Developers of the lamp say that, with some training, you can control the colors the lamp displays by mental influence.
Mind Lamp is very simple device. It has three LEDs, red, green and blue, a joint glow of which may give different tints of all colors of the rainbow. The behavior of LEDs is controlled by the CPU that watches a REG output. REG (Random Event Generator) is an electronic "coins flipper" that can "flip coins" 200 times per second. If, for a certain period of time, the output of the REG strongly deviates from the norm, then the CPU gives a command to change the color of the lamp.
As PEAR and Psyleron researchers found, conscious or subconscious mind can influence REG output, and so the colors of the lamp too. It is important to note that we are not talking about that you can clearly cause the lamp to display exact color. It is just that, having a series of experiments, you may find that the lamp is responding to your intentions, thoughts, conscious or subconscious mind in some way.
The most difficult thing here is to determine the impact on the lamp. That is why Psyleron released a second version of Mind Lamp, that has White-to-Color mode, in which the lamp stays a natural bright white color until the internal Random Event Generator causes it to become one of the other eight colors. Once again, we say that this color should not exactly be what you think of. You could even think of no color. REG reacts to something in your mind. On what and how - it is unknown for now. This is a broad field for experimentation.
If you think that the light is supposedly "captures" microwaves of human brain, or those waves just provoke a "noise" in the work of electronic devices, as some people believe, then you are mistaken. If you are close to seeing the results of PEAR Lab researches and its publications, then you know that the effect is quite different. It can be shown both over long distances, and even in mechanical systems, where talking of "brain waves" is useless.
